I came across this poem and can't remember where I found it. My youngest, my baby, is now in school full-time and this poem hit a chord with me. It's another chapter in my life. In their lives. Just wanted to share.

Kindergarten Wonder

I wonder what you are doing right now and if everyone is treating you kind.
I hope there is a special person, a nice friend that you can find.

I wonder if the teacher knows just how special you are to me,
And if the brightness of your heart is something she can see.

I wonder if you are thinking about me and if you need a hug.
I already miss the sound of your voice and how you give my leg a tug.

I wonder if you can possibly understand how hard it is for me to let you grow.
On this day know that my heart breaks, for this is the first step in letting my baby go!

Catch up, Organizing, Purging... oh my!

School is fast approaching and I realize that I have some serious catching up to do with regards to Becky Higgins digital Project Life, paper Project Life, well... just life in general. I'm getting my home organized, purging old clothes, buying new ones, clearing out the closets and making room for... well... more stuff that will inevitably make its way into my home. That's just the way it is when you have little ones that are constantly growing and joining new activities that require more "stuff".
This year I am hoping to get it all organized so that I will be able to get my little hands on what I need and when.  I started the year off by taking a workshop by Aby Garvy over at Simplify101.com If you have never taken the Organize Your Paper Clutter workshop and you have loads of paper clutter... you should!  I highly recommend it. The last class for this year is starting September 15, 2011. Sign up is now. Check it out here
I took the class and find my paper piles have diminished and continue to do so. I can find papers when I need them. I know where to put them rather than have them pile up on my kitchen counter. I have fewer magazines coming through my mailbox. I feel more in control of my paper stuff = less stress.

SPRAGUEFEST!

I am beyond excited to be going to my first ever Spraguefest! What a thrill it will be to meet Jessica Sprague, Carina Gardner, and Heidi Swapp! What a trio and a treat it will be! To top it all off it will be in the land of sin city - Las Vegas baby! I am looking forward to meeting lots of new people, playing with paint, doing some digi, taking photos, and visiting the many spectacular sights to be seen. It has been a very, very long time since I have done anything for myself and am so looking forward to this trip. The only thing that would make this trip even better? Maybe meeting Becky Higgins, Ali Edwards, Cathy Zielske, and Stacy Julian too... that will be for another trip.

Digital Design with Carina Gardner

I have been MIA because I have been fully immersed in a 5-week long course, Art of Digital Design 2,with the lovely and talented Carina Gardner over at Jessicasprague.com. It has been an intense, busy, fun, and interesting course with a bunch of fun and ambitious people. Carina was absolutely fantabulous in her presence in the class, critiques, and webinars. She is truly a wonderful teacher.

I am continuing to progress in my design work and am hoping to be able to build up the confidence to put my work out there soon.

I hope you are all continuing with your scrapbooking whether it is through photography, journaling, digital, paper, or even just printing out photos and putting them in albums. It is all good.
