Project Life

Here is a photo of my very first Digital Project Life book using Becky Higgins Project Life Templates at www.beckyhiggins.ziblio.com

It was easy, fast, and fun to make the book... and I "caught up" on one of the years (2005)that I had not been able to scrapbook at all. Plus, I was able to buy 4 copies. One for me, and one for each of our boys when they are all grown up and leave the house. When you consider the cost of printing photos the price of the digital version it's a pretty good deal. It's a personal choice though. If you want to get "caught up" from past years I say this is a great way to get a whole lot of photos into books quickly. You can always go back and make other layouts from these same years. I find that now that I look back at these photos I see and remember layouts that I have wanted to make. My whole family enjoys looking through these books and my oldest son Alex actually prefers the look and feel of a "real book" with a spine and hard cover. I like Project LIfe in any shape or form both digitally and paper/glue and hybrid. It all works. Getting those stories and photos down on paper is amazing. You won't regret it.

I will also be catching up on past years using more of Becky Higgin's Project Life Kits. Here are three that I am using simultaneously to catch up on previous years and current year. I also have another digital version that I am working on at the same time. It all works for me.
I went through all of my 2008 photos and just had them printed at scrapbookpictures.com and will just slip these into my Project Life Kit along with all of the journaling and month cards. Once all of the papers and photos are in the kit it will be easy to go at my own pace and journal. Plus we can enjoy these photos and the whole family can contribute to the journaling. Love.

I'm not sure what I am going to do going forward as far as using Project Life digitally vs. traditional. I like that the digital books do not take up a lot of space. I like that they are quick and easy to do. However, I also love the traditional as well and how you can make it your own. Hmmm. More to come later.

Days are a blur

Why is it that it seems like one week begins and then it is over before I have a chance to really get anything accomplished? The only things I seem to be able to accomplish these days are laundry, dishes, and sweeping the floors. Everything else that brings pleasure or joy to my life are sitting there waiting for me. Years have gone by and I haven't scrapbooked nearly as much as I would have liked. However, some things have changed in my life that has made scrapbooking differently in my life. That is Project Life. A kit developed and created by Becky Higgins. It is a PHENOMENAL kit. If you Love to scrapbook, but find you have no time to sit down and really get a layout done this kit will get you there.

Becky Higgins has been an incredible inspiration with the introduction of Project Life. I have to say that it took me a year before I truly grasped the whole idea and went with it. It has truly changed the way I scrapbook and how I see LIFE. I am no longer mulling over ideas and layouts, but I am actually getting photos and their stories into scrapbooks! I hadn't really had the time or the creative juices to complete layouts on a regular basis. I've come to realize that scrapbooking can be any way you want it to be. There are no rules. Bottom line: it's all about the photos and the stories, the memories.

I started using the Project Life kit by just printing out my photos from the day or week or even past years that I haven't had a chance to scrapbook. So now, not only do I get to enjoy the photos that I put in the album, but I am also getting ideas on layouts to do too... and can insert them into my Project Life album too... or else where. I am scrapbooking with this simple and doable kit! Yea!
