During these unprecedented times all over the world we've been hearing about the importance of not touching our faces - in particular our eyes, nose, and mouth. How washing our hands frequently can save your life by getting rid of the coronavirus. We know that it can live for possibly up to 9 hours and possibly days on a hard surface?

When we are home we can wash our hands, we are close to a sink with running water and soap.

How about when we are not at home while making our essential trips to the grocery store?

We can wear gloves, yes. We can wear masks, yes. We can try to not touch our faces, but did you know that people unconsciously touch their faces about 2000-3000 times a day? 3-5 minutes a minute? What?!

IF you are looking for a hand sanitizer that is both moisturizing and effective LimeLife by Alcone has one that is the best I've used.

It's a natural version with no hormone-disrupting chemicals, instantly sanitizes with all natural ingredients.

Contains: lemon, ginger, and Litsea essential oils to refresh and instantly sanitize, and moisturize.

No more dry, cracking hands after using traditional hand sanitizers.

Think of it as a hand sanitizer and a hand treatment. That's exactly what it is.

The CDC says in order for a hand sanitizer to be effective it needs to be at least 60% alcohol.

Our Lemon Drop Hand Sanitizer has 62% alcohol. Very effective. Rub it in for 30 seconds and you're good. It dries nicely and doesn't leave any residue feeling on your hands... and it smells ah-mazing! If you like the smell of lemon drops that is.

I have both the 8 oz and the 2 oz. I refill the 2 oz bottle with the 8 oz bottle.

Our 8 Oz bottle is slated to be back in stock Mid-April.

Our 2 oz travel size bottle should be back in stock later TODAY around 3pm If not today, then tomorrow! (Our distribution truck ran into weather problems in Ohio yesterday). 😲🤦🏻♀️

That's what I used to think. As a teen I was one of the lucky ones that never got acne. Ha! Well, the wool was pulled over my eyes. As I entered into college my acne problems really started and only continued off and on from my 20s with the hormonal turmoil of having kids, and now still.

I am not a dermatologist and all of these tips are ones that I have come across, learned about from my dermatologist, and through lots of trial and error. My skin isn't perfect and I still have flareups, but for the most part it has gotten better with a consistent skincare routine.

Tip #1: Wash your hands and Don't touch your face!

So much bacteria, dirt, oils, etc get onto our hands. So try not to touch your face! Touching your face could cause flare-ups. If you can't wash your hands then use an antibacterial hand wash like LimeLife by Alcone's all natural, non-drying Lemon Drop hand sanitizer. Our purifying hand gel contains lemon, ginger, and Lisea essential oils to refresh, instantly sanitize, and moisturize skin. One pump will leave hands feeling clean and delicately scented. Available HERE in a 2oz travel size or 8 oz pump size.

Tip #2: Wash your face twice a day (and after sweating)

Sweating, especially when wearing a hat or helmet, can make acne worse. So wash your face with special attention given around the hairline and be sure to wash for at least a good minute. Use circular motions taking attention to get up and underneath your fine facial hairs (yes, we all have them). You want to choose something gentle that will remove all of your makeup, oils, dirt, sweat from the day. I highly recommend Dream Clean Cleanser by LimeLife by Alcone. This amazing cleanser gently foams as a result of its natural fruit extract, Soapberry. This ingredient also combats acne-causing bacteria and inhibits melanin production, reducing the appearance of age spots and sun damage. The Aloe Vera in this cleanser creates a shield to keep moisture in and pollutants out, while Extract of White Tea adds antioxidant benefits and Spirulina Platensis Algae firms skin. It's also paraben-free and leaping bunny certified. Click HERE to buy.

Tip#3: Use your fingertips to apply a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser. Using something harsh could irritate your skin.

See Dream Clean above.

Tip #4: Be gentle with your skin. Use gentle products that are alcohol-free. Do no use products that irritate your skin, which may include astringents, toners, and harsh exfoliants. Dry, red skin makes acne appear worse.
<span style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: inherit; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 1rem; font-weight: bolder;">

Tip #5: <span style="background-color: white; box-sizing: border-box; color: inherit; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 1rem; font-weight: bolder;">Scrubbing your skin can make acne worse. <span style="background-color: white; color: inherit; font-family: "Open Sans", sans-serif; font-size: 1rem;">Avoid the temptation to scrub your skin. Instead try using a clay mask, like our Masque of Zen, that draws impurities to the surface and then gently exfoliates. Or our gentle Skin Polish Mask. Then wash off with lukewarm water.
This years theme was "Under One Sun" because the company is going global we had beauty guides in attendance from USA, Canada, and the UK, and France (as we will be opening up there soon).

It was a long weekend of learning, collaborating, partying, socializing, and talking with so many people. It truly is a unique company in that collaboration over competition is encouraged and expected. There is not that cattiness one would expect with a group of 2,000+ women together.

I joined LimeLife by Alcone in the end of September 2017. Having never truly worked in a network marketing or multi-level marketing company before I really did not know what to expect. I knew I wanted to try the skincare and professional grade makeup. I wanted to have access to the same makeup that was used by celebrities and their makeup artists, the same makeup that is used in the entertainment industry, on broadway, on tv personalities. I had tried so many different makeup and skincare lines starting with drugstore brands in my teens to high end boutiques. Nothing really could touch and cover up the acne marks that I was plagued with in my 30s and 40s. I didn't have high hopes. The first time I tried what I came to learn was "world famous foundation" I. was. blown. away. Not only did the concealer and foundation cover my marks and even out my skin tone, it stayed on all day and didn't look I had caked on a full face of makeup. It was magical.

From the foundation and concealer, to their lipsticks, glosses, blushes, and eyeshadows... not one disappointment. Truly remarkable. I am in awe and now know how celebrities always look so flawless on the red carpet. The right tools, the right products for the job truly make all the difference in the world. If you want to find and use skincare and makeup that and never have to look anywhere else... THIS.IS.IT. There's no need to throw your money away on anything else. You will use all of this line to the last itty-bitty drop. I have never been able to say that before with any company.

Run, don't walk. Run!! If you want to try first, I still highly suggest buying the starter kit! For $169 (+ tax) will get you over $350 worth of skincare and makeup products to truly get a sense of the quality of the products. You will not be disappointed. If you are still in love (and you will be), you can continue to buy the products at wholesale cost to you. You can even share it with your friends, families, strangers, everybody and make money while doing it. You can get your friends to do the same and can then head on over to our yearly conference, "Palooza", and meet up with and hang out and learn with your friends and make new ones. There really is no downside to this gig. You can make it what you want for yourself. Part-time, a hobby, full-time career. There's room for everyone! If you're interested in grabbing a seat on this rocket ship head on over to www.limelifebyalcone.com/rosanissenbaum to sign up. You can also visit me on my www.facebook.com/rosaslimelife/ or instagram page @rosaslimelife and message me. I'd love to help you!

DRY SKIN TYPE

Generally, dry skin is considered a skin type and means lack of oil
being produced in theskin. This skin type is characterized by smaller
pores, parched skin and may have flakey patches. As we age our skin
becomes dryer as we produce less oil. The use of topical skin products
like prescription Retin-A or acne medications may also contribute to
a lack of oil in the skin.

DEHYDRATED SKIN CONDITION

When the skin lacks water it is considered to be dehydrated. This is a
skin condition that any skin type can have including the oiliest. It is most
characterized by tightness, but alsomay be itchy or sensitive. Often fine
lines and wrinkles may be accentuated and makeup may settle into those
lines making the skin look older than it really is. You simply may just be
dehydrated!

If you have ever noticed your skin feeling shiny and oily, but tight at the
same time this is a clear indicator that your skin is dehydrated and lacking
water.

Causes that contribute to the dehydration of the skin are many environment
factors such as lack of humidity in the air, flying on an airplane, hormones,
steam rooms, overly stripping skin care products like many cleansers and
overly exfoliating products.

MOISTURIZING SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

Moisturizing products make the skin feel softer and smoother. The function
of moisturizer is to form a protective barrier on the skin preventing moisture
loss. These types of products contain emollient ingredients such as pomifera
oil, sunflower oil, apricot oil, hemp seed oil, rose hip oil to name a few. These
ingredients essentially coat the skin to trap hydration in as well as provide
nourishing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.

This means if your skin is truly dehydrated and needs hydration, applying
moisturizer really won't hydrate your skin much if at all. You first need
water soluble humectant ingredients to lock in.

HYDRATING SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

Skin care products that hydrate the skin contain water soluble humectant
ingredients. They work by attracting water molecules to the skin like a
magnet. Some of these ingredients include vegetable glycerin, sorbitol and
my personal favorite hyaluronic acid. By far the gold standard in hydrating
ingredients is hyaluronic acid. This ingredient our bodies naturally produce
to lubricate our joints and holds 1000 times its weight in water! This tiny
molecule will also take a crinkled skin cell, plump it and make it nice and
round smoothing fine lines.

DRINKING WATER + HYDRATION

A common myth is drinking water will hydrate the skin. This is actually
FALSE! Only 1% of what you ingest actually reaches the layers of the skin.
This means when you drink water it has to pass through your entire digestive
tract which is pretty hostile and acidic, excretory organs and muscle tissue.
The process is too quick and you'll urinate it out before it ever reaches the skin.

The myth comes from people seeing a difference in the skin after drinking
a good amount of water for a period of time. Well, you have your kidneys to
thank for flushing out all those toxins making the skin appear better. However,
it does not actually lubricate the skin and topical application of products is the
best most effective way to do so.

Here are my favorite clean hydrating products that have water attracting
ingredients! LimeLife by Alcone products - They have everything from
cleansers, serums (boosters), and moisturizers.

It has been busy, hectic and crazy with three boys, school, sports, home, business, you know that little thing called..... life.

Well, a lot has changed in a few months. Moving into our "old, but new" home and starting a business. I've gone back to work after being a stay-at-home mom for the past decade or so. Well, I'm still a stay-at-home mom - turned mom-preneur. I've started selling an all natural, chemical free skincare line and professional grade makeup with the company LimeLight by Alcone. What an amazing company, with a CEO with a heart of gold (Michele Gay), and truly amazing products. This has been life changing for me and my skin.
Did you know that it only takes one minute for toxins to enter into your blood stream once applied to your skin? One minute! That might make you pause and think about what you're putting on your face, your body, your skin.

I've been cognizant of using natural products for most of my life. My father was a general surgeon, a doctor. He didn't like us wearing any makeup or perfumes. He thought it best to be natural and I believed him.

It wasn't until my father got sick when I was in my 20s that I really started to be more aware of things in our environment. I remember him talking about toxins in our environment (this was back in the early 1990s!). He truly believed that there were things in our environment making people sick. Toxins getting into our blood stream, toxins that we were breathing in, drinking, touching, coming into contact with that was causing an up tick in cancer rates. My dad was a surgeon. His philosophy was to go in and fix what was wrong and then heal. It was on Thanksgiving that I remember us all together as a family, and my dad had a cut on his arm that wasn't healing. He thought it strange, but in his quiet way, didn't elaborate or talk about it with us. Hind sight is always 20/20. Had we known on Thanksgiving that he was already sick, he could have gotten help sooner. It wasn't until the Spring the following year that his symptoms increased and it turned out that he had Acute Mylegenous Leukemia. His chances of survival were 30%. He sought immediate care with chemotherapy, but it wasn't enough. He passed away in July of that year at the young age of 53.

THIS. This is why I am so fortunate to have found LimeLight by Alcone's skincare line. I have tried other all natural skincare lines. Many of which made me break out. LimeLight's skincare line has worked well with my skin and is actually improving it. I have fine lines and wrinkles, dark undereye circles, hyper pigmentation (dark spots) from sun damage and some melasma from having babies (I have 3 boys). This skincare line is effective. It works. My undereye circles are diminishing. My hyper pigmentation spots are lightening. My fine lines are decreasing. I have acne scarring and will see if there are any improvements over time with those. Regardless, I am so incredibly happy to have found something that I believe in. That I truly love and that works and that is all natural - free from harmful chemicals! This regimen, below, works for my combination skin. There is skincare that can work for you too.

LimeLight by Alcone is a branch of the mother company, Alcone, which has been around for over 60 years! They provide professional grade makeup to makeup artists in the movie industry, broadway, celebrities, news media and now it is available to everyone.

Michele Gay, our CEO, decided to take the best of the best, tricks of the trade products from Alcone and bring it to the direct selling market so that every single person could feel amazing everyday. She wanted it in the hands of everyone. Something she did was create the all natural skincare line (free from harmful chemicals) to go along with the professional grade makeup offerings. She also believed that toxins in our lotions are entering into our bloodstream. So this was very important to her - and part of her vision, to bring not only bring professional grade makeup to everyone, but also all natural, chemical free skincare.

So what about our skincare? Simply. It's amazing. There's something for all skin types from anti aging to acne prone, dry to oily, combination or sensitive skin. There's also a men's skincare line.

Let's talk about their Professional Grade Makeup:

What does "Professional Grade Makeup" mean?

LimeLight's makeup is professional grade which means it has 50% pigment. Compare this to other makeup brands that range in pigment from 18-23%. What does this mean for you?

It's easily blendable.

A little literally goes a long way. If you're used to applying and reapplying your makeup you will be pleasantly surprised.

It lasts longer on your face = fewer touchups if any.

It has been used for decades on celebrities, theatre, movie industry, broadway, national media.

From concealer, foundation, blush, eyeshadows, lipsticks, lip glosses, bronzer, perfect pressed powder, mascara, eyeliner.

Wearing makeup without looking like you have a ton of layers on....because you don't need to in order to get the coverage you need.

It feels natural on your face. It feels like your own skin.

My office space is not quite as neat and organized as I would like it, but I am so excited and inspired to get started on my 16 year old son's scrapbook!

I have two other kids whose scrapbooks are pretty bare. I'm hoping the systems I have set up many years ago will be helpful now!

I had started by ASSESSING what I had and what I've done over the years. I realized I had a few albums that were partially done. LOTS of loose photos, digital photos, photos on cd/dvd, and negatives.

Next, I started GATHERING all of my photos, papers, art, memorabilia - basically everything I had from their school years. I have been doing this through the years. I started out compiling everything into filing bins with file folders labeled by age and then by school year (birth, 1, 2, 3, preschool, kindergarten, grade 1, etc). The file bins were similar to these I found at Staples.

Now that we've moved into our new home I have a smaller office/creative space. I have set up a temporary desk until I decide what I will do and bought two commercial size filing cabinets, that are acting as temporary desk supports. I chose these Staples filing cabinets because they are heavier duty and much deeper than the others I had found. I have three kids and have designated a drawer for each of them and this is where I now hold all of their school stuff. It's easy to file things away now that I have the drawers and files in place.

I have already collected and sorted all of their stuff because I had been doing it all along as their items came in. If you haven't sorted the school stuff you will want to do that per child. I pulled out all of their stuff and organized it by year and/or teacher. I used stickies and wrote the grade/year/teacher's name on it and sorted everything into piles. Once sorted, I placed everything into file folders as "holders" until I could scrapbook them. I didn't make any decisions as to what to keep or toss. At that moment, I wanted to just sort and organize. (Batch process!)

This is where I am now. The next step will be to DECIDE WHAT I WANT TO KEEP OR WHAT THE KIDS WANT TO KEEP. For items that are too big I will photograph and include that in their album. For other papers and artwork I will either cut it down to size or scan it and use in the Project Life App to create a page. I may also make digital pages using photoshop depending on the items.

I currently have two different scanners. One is the Fujitsu Scansnap ix500. It's fast and efficient. It can scan a lot of pages at once. You can go into the settings and have it save as a jpeg or pdf. You can set the image quality to automatic resolution or as high as 600 dpi for color/grey scanning or 1200 dpi for black and white scanning. You can choose to scan in color, grey, black and white or automatic color detection. Duplex (double-sided) or simplex (single-sided). AND it can be programmed to be used wirelessly! It's a little pricey, but worth the money. ($495.99 at Staples, but you may be able to find it for less elsewhere).

I also have the Epson Perfection V750 Pro. I've had this one for many years. I don't use it quite as often, but find it is great for scanning older prints. It can scan up to 6400 optical resolution and can automatically remove dust and surface defects from your photos and can even remove scratches from old black and white photos. It is also great for batch scanning negatives, slides, and more. I haven't used it to its capacity, but it has been great for scanning more fragile or bulkier items.

My next step is going to be to go through, sort, scan, and photograph starting with preschool.

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">If you've been on the fence or think that scrapbooking is not for you... think again. It could't be any easier.
<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">If you'd rather not deal with any paper at all, there is a digital version that you can use on your computer using photoshop elements or photoshop. You will need to know the basics of adding photos into photoshop (but this is a very small learning curve).

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "verdana" , sans-serif;">Or even easier, you can download the project life app from iTunes and memory keep in the palm of your hand.
I've heard from many people that have built their own homes that they would probably never do it again. The process is long and more likely than not, much longer and more expensive than you think it will be. You have to do your due diligence in finding the right builder, an honest builder, and honest hardworking subcontractors. That's not an easy thing to do.

We originally finished building our post and beam home in 2004. I'm pretty sure we started thinking about the idea of building in 2000 and actually broke ground in May of 2002. The ground was too hard and cold from the long winter we had to wait until it thawed out.

We spent many hours (well, my husband spent many hours walking the land that we were going to build on (while I spent a few hours). In my defense, I was pregnant at the time, and had a one year-old who didn't like to sleep much.

Anyway, he spent so much time walking through the forest with a compass, ribbon, staked it all out and put ribbons on trees marking out the very long driveway, and the direction the house should face, etc. He was amazing and a bit OCD about building this house. He has a spatial brain, while mine is... well, let's just say, I was better at seeing things once the trees were down and the space was ready to build and the home was ready to decorate.
Grab a snack and your favorite drink, settle in. This is a long post. :-)

I have been scrapbooking since 2000 when my first little baby boy was born. I didn't really scrapbook before then, but I had always kept a diary. Putting words to paper was a way of dealing with so many emotions and thoughts I obviously did not want to share with the world. From my first crush, to my first heartache. I may not have been scrapbooking, but I have always been a memory keeper. My love for memory-keeping, scrapbooking, telling stories, has only gotten stronger through the years with the birth of my kids. I have a strong urge to want to share our family history, our stories, the funny ones, the sad ones, the stories behind the pictures, the stories no one would ever know if they weren't recorded.

My very first scrapbook was a baby calendar scrapbook that was given to me, from my obstetricians wife, after my first son was born.
It was simple. It was easy. I put no expectations on myself that it needed to be "perfect". It was fun, there was no stress, no pressure and I loved it.

Since then I have collected what is sure to be thousands of dollars worth of paper, stickers, adhesives, albums, tools, etc trying to keep up with printing photos and scrapbooking them. The more stuff I collected the less room I had to store all of this stuff, and the more stuff I had, the more difficult I found it to find what I needed for a scrapbook page. The more I collected, the more I felt bogged down, I was feeling like I was unable to find the creativity to make a page. I would end up spending my precious time organizing over and over and over again, instead of actually memory keeping. I was becoming a scrapbooking hoarder rather than a memory keeper. Raise your hand if that sounds familiar.

Back in 2009, I started "Project 365" when Becky Higgins released her first kit.

I started slipping my photos into pockets and journaling on preprinted cards. Before I knew it, my first ever, yearly family scrapbook was done! I had never actually finished an entire scrapbook before.

I tried making a digital book as well when she had her project 365 kits on ziblio.com. I ended up making 4 copies. One for each of my kids and one for us. I tried making another one, but never did end up finishing it.

I was finding that the slip in method was working for me. I continued with what then became a Project 52 kit. I loved the ease of photos, pockets, cards, and pen.

Over the years, my scrapbooking started sliding back again. We were in the process of a HUGE move from one state to another and taking on an enormous project (taking down and rebuilding our post-n-beam home - that will be for another post... or many more posts). ;-)

In the process, I started packing up 17 years worth of stuff we had accumulated. Not until I started going through my creative space did I realize just how much I had collected over the years. It was overwhelming. It was outdated. Yet, I couldn't seem to let any of it go. I had spent money on it. I came to the realization that if I hadn't used most of the products, it was unlikely that I would. It was weighing me down.

I had sold, given away, and packed up what was left of my scrapbook products. It would be three years before I unpacked the same products I ended up keeping.

During this busy time, Becky came out with the Project Life App. I had been stalking her social media accounts waiting to hear about the release date! (September 17, 2014)

It. Was. A. Match. Made. In. Heaven. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. What a game changer this was for me! I had my iPhone, I had my photos, I had the project life app. THIS IS ALL THAT I NEEDED TO KEEP UP WITH MY MEMORY KEEPING. I was adding photos in on a daily basis and journaling. I was memory keeping while making our drive across the state. At the airport. IN my car. While waiting at the doctor's office, in bed, etc. I could do this anywhere. Did I mention it was Life-changing?

The Project Life App was only available for apple phones, in the beginning, but is now available for android phones as well! The app has evolved quite a bit. You can edit your photos in the app either directly or with 'PicTapGo'. Awesome. You can now also print photos, pages (4x6, 6x8, 8x8, or 12x12) from the app! Awesome-sauce.

I have not given up all of my traditional products (my kids could use it for homework assignments/school projects, etc.) I still have papers, some stickers, glue, pens, and punches, but I see myself letting go of a lot of that as soon as I get settled into our "new" old home.

I am now in the process of getting back to scrapbooking my kids albums. I'll share that process with you as I go along. Bottom line is: I am able to EASILY keep up with our yearly family album, which leaves me time to "catch-up" on my kids school albums! I'm feeling pretty excited and motivated to start on that. I'll be sharing that with you as I go along.

Last weekend we woke up on a typical Sunday morning. We slept in. The kids slowly meandered downstairs and joined us for breakfast. I got a phone call from a friend asking if I had heard any news of an accident that had occurred in the wee hours of the morning. We hadn't heard anything. She proceeded to tell me there was a horrible, tragic accident involving 5 teenagers who were killed while driving back from a concert in South Burlington, an hour away. A man driving north in the southbound lane hit the teenagers head-on killing them all. At this point, we did not yet know who those kids were. No one knew. My 16 year old, Alex, had asked to go to that concert. I didn't let him go. We started to panic knowing many of his friends had gone to this concert.

As the news trickled in there were unconfirmed rumors that there were kids we knew in the accident. They were not from our hometown, but a neighboring town. Vermont is a small state, small communities that are very close, a state where there is usually only one degree of separation among people. Five of those teenagers were all from the same neighboring towns. Four from the same school and one, who went to a private school, was just home for the long weekend. This has left all the communities in Vermont devastated with this horrible, tragedy. We are all numb. We are in shock. I try my best to protect my children from hurt, from harm, but this week I have not been able to protect my son from this unbelievable pain.

Those five teenagers were Eli Brookens (16), Cyrus Zschau (16), Liam Hale (16), Mary Harris (16) (students at Harwood Union Highschool) and Janie Cozzi (15) (student at Kimball Union Academy).

Our whole community has been dealing with this horrible, tragic, unfathomable loss.

We attended a candle light vigil where several people spoke, but one speech that really left a mark on my heart was from Mary Harris' uncle, Darryl Mays:

"This is a beautiful day. We live in a beautiful place," he said as he warned against feelings of negativity — even toward the suspected killer. He thanked the emergency responders.

"Be thankful for your friends. Be blessed that you got to live today. Do your best. Live a great life. That's what you can do for your friends who died," Mays said to the students, many of whom wept in response.

I loved his words. A reminder and a message to not just adults, but especially to the kids... to be thankful, to count our blessings, to do our best, to leave a positive mark on this life, to live a great life. Like Becky Higgins' motto, "Live a good life, and record it." I think it's so important to take those photos, share your memories, share your stories for in times like this, those photos, those memories, those stories may be the only things we have left to help us remember those who have come before us, to help us remember those we have lost much, much too early.

This is the message that I want my son to take away from this. To live a great life, to enjoy all the blessings we have around us, to be thankful for our life today, to do our best, to LIVE A GREAT LIFE.

I also have it on my audible app, which I'll listen to when I have time to solidify certain concepts in my head.

I love the concept of tidying up just once. Keeping whatever sparks joy, what you absolutely love and discarding the rest.

This makes sense to me although I have not yet started the process in its entirety. I've mastered the folding concept and will fold things using this method when I am folding laundry.

Designating one space for each person in the family. Having your own space makes you feel happy. Everyone needs a sanctuary.

Marie Kondo says to tidy up using a particular method in a particular order. One must pull out everything in one category, put it all into one place before one can start tidying.

Following the right order in which things must be tidied is crucial:

Clothing

Books

Paper

Electricals

Paper

Miscellaneous

I've gone through the clothing and it truly does make a difference and, as funny as it sounds, it absolutely does spark joy.

This season is no different. In fact, I'm even more motivated to let things go as we are in the midst of a potential move. Our home is huge. We've accumulated so much stuff over the course of 18 years of married life, 3 kids, and 2 different states/homes.

I've been going through all of my scrapbook products in my office first. I want to keep only things that I absolutely love and that I absolutely find useful. Everything else is finding its way to a new home. It feels great.

I've realized that I prefer to keep a much simpler, stream-lined space rather than a cluttered space. I tend to use what I have more if I have less of it. Am I the only one that has been slow to catch on to this concept? It's a real eyeopener for me. I feel lighter without so much stuff. I feel happier. I feel more content.

However, right now, I am in the midst of the whole decluttering, reorganizing, feng shui event going on in my office and in my home so it feels more like a disaster zone right now. I know once I'm through cleaning things out and getting rid of things I do not truly love or use, my surroundings and the energy in my home will feel so much better.

I am trying to not let emotions take hold of letting go of material things. I'm being ruthless when it comes to letting a lot of stuff go. I'm determined to not have to pack a lot of this stuff with me on our next move.

I've read quite a few books on organizing and decluttering and many of these books have added clutter to my bookshelves. I will be letting go of most of these books as well. I've come to the conclusion that I can read all I want on decluttering, but my home will not declutter itself by just reading about it.

So, my organizing motto is, Just Do It.
Action.
Movement.
Donate.
Sell.
Throw away. *gasp*
Purge. Purge. Purge.

It feels good people.

I love scrapbooking. I love everything about it. I love memory keeping, reliving memories through my stories. It keeps them alive. I get to remember them all over again. As the memory keeper and story teller in my family I'm hoping, one day, my kids will come to cherish these stories as much as I do and I hope that they will treasure each of the stories more and more throughout their lives.

Years ago I was a Creative Memories consultant. My family was young though and I just couldn't keep it going. Well, my kids are now older, still need me, but older which allows me to put in more effort into maybe becoming a consultant again.

In looking into Creative Memories again, I found out that they've turned into a company called Ahni and Zoe, by Creative Memories. Well, looking into the company, it seems they've gone into the pocket photo business as well as a traditional bent. It can still be Your Story | Your Way. I've decided to give it another go and will see how things turn out this time around.

If you want to look into Ahni and Zoe check out my website: ahniandzoe.com/rosanissenbaum where you can learn more about the company. You can order from me or if you're so inclined and want to buy products for yourself or sell yourself, you can join "my team." I think it's pretty cool and keeping memories in any way is a good thing.

Stay tuned. I'll be sharing some of my layouts with their products soon.
Isn't it amazing with all the technology we have in the world today from twitter, Instagram, to Facebook and I'm sure there are more, but these are the ones that I use the most. Facebook created a video link that can make a video out of all the photos you have added to your Facebook account since the day you signed on. Here is a link to the one that FB created for me. I love the music and just the way it was put together. What a world we live in today!

If you haven't made one already, you should go do it!

I made this Facebook Project Life card. I'm sure there is some sort of copyright on this sort of branding, etc. So, I've just made this for myself to include in my project life. Sorry I can not share it. I wouldn't want to get in trouble with Facebook now.

Wow, can you believe it? I'm actually blogging two days in a row. I know. Amazing, right?

Well, all the kiddos are in school today. Can I get a yippee? I, however, am still under the weather, and still have horrible, no-good, awful, coughing fits. These often happen while on the phone with customer service or the bank. A little cuppa hot tea with lemon and honey is just what the doctor ordered. It seems to help for a short time.

I have just come over from the Happy Family Movement where they are doing a Summer 2013 Bucket List Challenge. I encourage you to click on the above link and join in! It should be fun and that is what summer is all about. FUN and enjoying your family, friends, the outdoors, travel, etc!

In honor of Summers 2013 Bucket List I have created yet another little Project Life card to get you started on your little list. Just click the image below.

What's on your bucket list?

With the drastic change in weather we've been having from 80 degrees to 45 degrees there is no wonder we've had some sick people in the house. Most notably the littles and me. I have one left in the home with me and I think he will be going back to school tomorrow. Let's hope.

So, I haven't had much time to do any digital designing of late, but did come up with a little quick 3x4 project life card to add to your stash. I hope you enjoy it! Just click on the image to download.

Participated in Big Picture Classes Creative Crop during inter{national} scrapbook day. I tried really hard to keep up with and complete as many of the challenges as possible. I was able to complete 8/10 challenges. This was a first for me. In doing so, I also found out I won a package of 5 products by Ali Edwards over at DesignerDigitals.com! So very exciting! I've already chosen 5 of my products and have downloaded them. Thank you to Big Picture Classes, Katie Pertiet and Ali Edwards for that opportunity!

These are the 5 products I chose (and it was not easy to narrow this down). :)

I've also been busy taking a class with Cathy Zielske called Clean & Simple. I adore this class. Really, can not say enough about it. Cathy's method is so simple, stream lined, and really focuses on design principles that help a layout really come together. A huge shout out to Cathy Zielske! If you have never taken a class with Cathy Zielske... it is a must.

It has been a LONG time since I've blogged. Hmmm. Not sure why that is. Well, actually, I do.

The kids are getting tucked into bed too late. Really, 9:15 is just too late. If they were at least in bed and reading by 8:30 I'd be okay with that. But when my time comes only at 9:45, I am not a happy camper.

By the time I plop myself into bed and pull my laptop out my husband is ready to go to sleep and my clicking away at the keyboard is not what he wants to hear as he's trying to fall asleep.

Well, we have a nice little loft area that has been in need of some reorganizing. It's one of those spaces that just seems to collect odds and ends, the laundry basket, books, toys, etc. Do you have one of those spots in your house?

It really hasn't been put to good use. Until now. I've taken out two bookcases that weren't housing any books, an old broken dresser that we had grown so accustomed to looking at that we didn't even realize it looked horrible sitting there against the wall.

I wish I had taken a before picture so you could see how cluttered it was. But here it is now. I have an old rocking chair that I used when the boys were babies. It is not a beauty, but is so unbelievably comfortable. It's a rocker/recliner. It's the perfect chair for me to sit in with my laptop, it's almost like being in bed - that comfortable. A usable space for me at night when Michael wants to sleep and I want to continue clicking away. It is just right outside the bedrooms. Perfect.

Keeping me "company" while I click away on my laptop at night are my three little cutie-patooties (who are not so little anymore). *sigh*

On another note:
I'm going to start making lists, again. AND I am going to start using my organizer, again, and actually carry it around with me. I am most organized and efficient when I have a list going on so I can cross stuff off as I go along. Love to cross things off. It makes me happy and I feel I've accomplished something during the day. :)
I've been keeping up with Project Real Life and needed this class to "follow along" to get me back in gear with photo taking, but more importantly documenting. It really is so incredibly simple.

Here are pictures of my first two weeks of Project Real Life:

I've been using journaling cards that I've had from previous Project Life kits that I had leftover.
I've also been using this corner chomper by WeRMemoryKeepers. I use the 3/8th inch side which cuts the same rounded corners as Becky's pre-rounded journaling cards. This way my corners all match and that makes me happy in a silly little way. Then I sometimes use a date stamp and ink to date the journaling cards. I also had some arrow stickers from a previous Becky Higgins Project Life Kit to point to the photos I was journaling about.

I have multiple types of printers for printing out my photos. I've been in search of what would make it easier for me to print photos for project life... and I've realized... for me, hooking up my camera at the end of the week or each day and printing directly from my camera is the easiest and more assured way that I will print my photos out for that week. Now, I'm not always thrilled with the coloring, brightness, etc of the photos that I take... but I feel like at least I have decent photos that are making it into an album and that I am documenting the little stories.

Here is a list of the different printers I have:

Epson R2400: I love this one for any and all printing. I usually print 4x6, 8.5x11, 12x12, and even 13x19 prints. This produces amazing black and white photos. The only thing I don't like about it is the need to change out matte vs glossy black ink.

Canon Selphy CP780: Great for when I want to hook up my camera and print directly. It prints 4x6 or 2x3 credit card size photos. I'm not as happy with the quality of the print as with the Epson... but it's handy and quick.

Instax, by Fuji: This is handy and convenient as well. You take a photo with the camera itself and print it out instantly. It's like a polaroid camera from the "old days". It's great if you're say traveling and want to take photos and document along the way.

I also have the Fuji Pivi MP-300 Instant Print Camera. I do love this one for the same reason as the Instax. Only with this one I can hook up my digital camera to it and print from the photos off of my camera. I love this one even more. I can travel and print with it very easily. It prints similar sized photos as above. Here is a link to Amy Tangerine where she gave a good review of it.

I'd say I use my Epson and Fuji Pivi printers the most out of the above... but I still love them all.

I saw our forecast yesterday and knew that it was suppose to start getting cold... and snowy.

Yesterday, not only did it get cold, it certainly got rainy and hail-y. Typical northern Maine weather. It did snow last night and we woke up to just a dusting of snow. I really can't complain because we did have an unusually amazing summer and Fall this year. I suppose it is time to pay for all of that nice weather with a cold, snowy winter. I saw this off and on this morning. Yes, it was snowing! Brrrrr.

As I sit in my cold room, because the heat in the house has not quite caught up to warming the air, I wonder why I am living in a cold climate. I guess there is a sacrifice to be paid for enjoying four seasons.

My agenda for today:

With Thanksgiving on the horizon, I pulled out a journal I made earlier in the year. I was going to try to write in it at least once a month of things I am grateful for. Well, I made it through two months and then life got in the way. So, today, I plan to journal in my Gratitude Journal (made with a kit I bought off MyCraftChannel.com). It came with chipboard covers and paper from the Jenni Bowlin line. It originally came with three rings but I used my zutter binder instead to bind it all. I love the way it came out. Super cute.

Going Paperless

So, I've finally slowly starting going paperless and joining the "going green revolution". What has been my stopping me from going full-on with the whole paperless thing is how I am to keep everything organized and not to forget to pay a bill.

I've been keeping files, within files... but every month there is always a bill that slips through my hot little hands. I get emails on my iphone telling me a bill is due, but if I'm not at my computer it often gets overlooked.

I'm hoping some of you tech, green-friendly peeps out there can give me some handy suggestions as to how you keep it all organized - the paperless way! Here's to going green!
